About us

Wheels 2 Work County Durham is  a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) transport scheme based in Bullion Hall, Chester le Street and our aim is to help people access or sustain employment, apprenticeships  or  further education which would otherwise be inaccessible due to public transport connections or unsociable  hours work patterns.

We loan mopeds for 6 months with the possibility of extending, to ensure people can get to work, apprenticeships or participate in further education.

Mopeds of either 50cc for people aged 16 or 50cc, 110 or 125cc are available to people aged 17+ as long as they have at least a provisional licence. For costs please check our How much does it cost page.  The loan also includes helmet, jacket, high visibility vest, gloves and a heavy duty lock, insurance (moped only), tax, breakdown cover as well as servicing of the moped.

We receive donations and grants to support our running costs and are very grateful to the following funders for their support.
