About us

Wheels 2 Work County Durham is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) transport scheme based in Bullion Hall, Chester le Street and our aim is to help County Durham residents to access or sustain employment, apprenticeships or further education which would otherwise be difficult to get to/from due to public transport connections or unsociable hours work patterns.

Bicycle Scheme

With Funding from  Point North  (previously County Durham Community Foundation) household support, poverty hurts funds  and Climate County Durham we are able to support  people aged 16+ to purchase a brand new bicycle  (not electric) and kit to ensure people can get to work, apprenticeships or participate in further education. Eligibility criteria and age restrictions apply

Scooter loan scheme

We loan scooters for 6 months with the possibility of extending. 125CC Petrol scooters are available to people aged 17+ as long as they have at least a provisional licence. We will do our best to provide you with a scooter but this does depend on availability .Eligibility criteria and age restrictions apply
